Trade & wholesale

Each account has a price, and terms.

Trade is another sales channel. A restaurant, a bottle shop, an export buyer. You approve the account, set the price they pay, and the terms they pay on. You are the supplier. The bottles still leave the same cellar.

A price list on the account. On account until the terms you agreed are met.

The account, the price, and the terms.

01

The account
The Ridge is a restaurant. Approved by the estate. Not a Saturday guest, and not a club member.

02

The price
Pinot is $22 on their list and $38 on the shelf. A bottle shop down the road can sit on a different list.

03

The terms
The Ridge is on account, due in 30 days. Another account pays on delivery. The terms belong to that relationship.

Trade & wholesale

Wholesale, on the estate’s terms.

01

Accounts you approve

Wholesale, trade, and export are not open to anyone who creates a login. You add the account when the relationship is real. The company, the buyer, and the note live on the customer.

02

A price for that account

A price list carries the trade price. Point it at the trade group, or at one account when the number is theirs alone. The shelf price and the club price stay where they are.

03

Payment terms for that account

One restaurant is thirty days. A bottle shop is due when the case arrives. The order is placed on account, and it stays open until those terms are met. The agreement is on the account, not in a second ledger.

04

The same wines

The case is the catalogue you already sell at the door and on the site. Vintage, size, and the bottle are the same record. Only the price and the terms change.

05

Held until it leaves

A promised trade case can reserve stock. The shop and the till stop offering bottles that are already spoken for. When the order is fulfilled, the hold comes off the count.

06

An order in the same book

Trade is a channel on the order, next to the cellar door, the shop, and the club. Payment reads on account. Fulfilment reads open until the wine has gone.

01The supplier’s terms

You set what they pay, and when.

A trade relationship is a price and a way of paying. The Ridge does not see the shelf, and they do not see the club. They see the list you wrote for them, and the order waits on the terms you agreed.

  • A price list per account, or one list for the trade you supply the same way.
  • On account, with the terms kept on that customer.
  • A different account can have a different price and a different due date.

02The case

Twenty-four bottles, promised, then sent.

They ring on Monday. You place the order at their price, on their terms, and reserve the Pinot so the weekend cannot sell it. When it leaves, it is a fulfilled order on that account, in the same book as everything else.

  • Placed by the estate, with a number.
  • Stock reserved at the location that will fill it.
  • The same fulfilment statuses as a shop order.
